I have always been excited about being part of Warrior Training. The fact that I knew most of the participants made things even easier. I was looking forward to meeting new people.
On our arrival we received a warm loving welcome. I felt at home even before I was officially welcomed. The happiness lasted until a lady that I did not get along with arrived with the third group of participants. There was a tension between me, one of my friends who was also a participant to this Warrior Training and this lady from last year already.
As we always do, we stayed out of each other’s way and pretend that all is well. But this didn’t last the entire training.
During training we were given a talk on forgiveness – this lesson revealed something. After the talk we were asked to write down on a piece of paper what came to our mind and we would be given the opportunity to burn this piece of paper. I went aside and my friend followed me. I didn’t mind because we hated one person. Little we knew was the lady we did not like will follow us as well. None of us wrote for quite some time, until I decided to be honest to myself. I wrote her name and my friend did the same; only then she wrote as well.
We went outside and burnt the papers. I didn’t feel the relief at that moment but I knew in my heart I released her.
The following day things were different; we ate together, shared the jokes, and sang in one group. We even took pictures together. I thank God for Joshua Trust. God bless you mom and dad.
